Food

One of my favorites: Salmon and Brussel Sprouts

On this page, I hope to share some of my cooking. I was lucky enough to have two grandmothers, a mother, a father, and a stepmother to watch in the kitchen when I grew up. Mealtime was a great time to not only eat, but to laugh – some of my best memories are from a table.

My first self cooked meal was on my first trip to Shining Rock with the Boy Scouts when I was twelve. Another scout and I shared the meal prep of beef stew over an open fire. I was so glad I didn’t have cleaning duties afterwards.

Many of these pics I’ve already shared on Facebook.

Sometimes I just get a hankering for something in particular, like trout or kale, then start perusing the internet for a recipe/guideline (kind of like pirate rules). I love to use my cast iron – a Lodge dutch oven, a Lodge grill pan, and a Wagner’s skillet
